    Description

Stunning in its eye-catching presence, the brilliant, sparkles of the organic peaks and valleys of reticulated silver contrast with granulated 14k gold and exude an effortless sophistication and eye-catching design. These are the perfect earrings to wear every day and become your signature look. The stylish rectangle shaped earrings featuring  granulated 14k gold are mounted on sterling silver bar posts with sterling silver clutch backs.

Reticulated silver differs from sterling silver not only by the obvious look of the silver, but special “reticulation silver”, which is 80% silver and 20% copper, is used as opposed to 92.5% silver content sterling silver.

Reticulation begins by depleting the copper from the alloy’s surface. This process leaves a silver-rich surface layer and a core that has a higher percentage of copper. Because copper has a higher melting temperature than silver, when the metal is torched with a very hot flame, the copper core can be brought to a melting point. When the flame is moved away, the silver forms waves and wrinkles. Creating each piece is like a surprise party. You never know what’s going to happen or what you’re going to get. The only thing you can be assured of is that no two pieces are ever the same.
